HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 1866In the City Council City of Lodi Lodi, California RESOLUTION NO. 1866 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THF CITY OF LODI GIVING NOTICE OF TEE PROPOSED AN- NEXlT.ION OF THE EERBIEATTER =SCRIM TERRI- TORY DESIGNATED AS "WILLOW GLEN ADDITION" TO THE CITY OF LODI 1M2DINS, under the provisions of that certain Act of the legislature of the State of California entitled "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939", proceedings for the annexation to the City of Lodi of the territory hereinafter particularly described have been initiated by the filing of a petition for annexation to the City of Lodi of the terri- tory hereinafter described by the owners of not less than ons4fourth of the land, both by area and assessed value, in said territory proposed to be annexed, and ice, the exterior boundaries of said territory des- cribed in said petition and which territory is contiguous to the limits of the City of Lodi, San Joaquin County, State of California, are described as follows: A portion of the Southeast Quarter of Section 35, 7 Township 4 North, Song* 6 East, Mount Diablo Haase and Meridian, and more particularly described as follows Commencing at a point on the present boundary line of the City of Lodi 1177.8 feet easterly and 30 feet northerly from the Southwest Corner of said Southeast Quarter, which point is also on the North line of Turner Road (Woodbridge Road) , and ring North 2195 feet, more or less, to the South bank of the Mokelmene River; thence meandering along the South bank of said Miser in an easterly direc- tion, upstream, to a coraer.of the present City boundary line; thence southerly along said City boundary line 1851 feet, more or less, to a corner of said City boundary line, which point also lies on the North line of said Turner Road; thence westerly along said North line and City boundary lice to the point of beginning, containing 49.3 acres, nore or less. WHEREAS, the aforesaid petition for annexation of the territory hereinbefore described to the City of Lodi, a muni- cipal corporation, has been filed with and received by the Council of the City of Lodi, and WHEREAS, less than twelve registered voters reside within said territory thereby qualifying the territory for annexation under the provisions of the Annexation of ®niahabited Territory .Act of 1939, and W ITAS, the boundaries of said territory were submitted to the Bounmdary Commission of Ban Joaquin County on April 21, 1955, and sines more than 2Q days have elapsed without a report from that body, the boundaries ars presumed definite and certain, now therefore BE IT RESOLVED, as follows: 1. That the City Council of the City cif Lodi does by this resolution give notice of such proposed annexation; does hereby designate said territory as "Willow Glen Addition"; and, further, does fisc Wednesday, July 6, 1955, at the hour of 8:Od p*clock p.m., at the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Lodi, California, as the day, hour and place when and where any person owning real property within such territory so proposed to be annexed -2- and having any objection to the proposed annexation may appear before the City Ceuacil and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed. 2. That the Clerk of the City of Lodi be, and he is here- by directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice in the "Lodi Sews -Sentinel", a'newspaper printed, published, and circulated in the City of Lodi, the municipal corporation to which it is proposed to annex the hereinbefore described territory, and at least twice in the "Stockton Record", a newspaper printed, published, and circulated outside the City of Lodi, all in the time, form and manner required by law. 3. That at any tine not later than the hoar set for hear- ing objections to the proposed annexation, any owner of property within the territory proposed to be annexed may file written protest against the proposed annexation; that sneh protests shall state the name or nares of the owner or owners of the property affected thereby and the description and area of such property in general terms. s * • s Certified to be a full, true and correct copy of Resolution Mo. 1866 of the City Council of the City of Lodi and that the same was passed and adopted in regular meeting of said City Council held May 18, 1955.
