HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 1863In the City Council City of Lodi Lodi, California RESOLUTION NO. 1863 REJECTING BIDS FOR INSTALLATION OF SEWERS IN SACRAMENTO STREET HAM LANE LAVE HOME DRIVE AND TURNER ROAD AND FINDING THAT INSTALLATION CAN BE MORE ECONOMICALLY PERFORMED BY DAY LABOR. WHEREAS, in anawer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the order of this City Council, sealed bids were received and publicly opened by the City Clerk of this City on April 4, 1955, for installations of sewers in Sacramento Street, Ham Lane, Lake Home Drive and Turner Road, City of Lodi, Cali- fornia, and WHEREAS, after tabulation and consideration of said sealed bids the City Manager of this City recommends that the bids received for the above installation be rejected as being in excess of the City Engineer's estimate and in excess of the cost of doing said work by day labor, now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that the bids received for the installa- tion of said sewer pipe, namely from Stockton Construction Company of '43,347.39 and W. M. Lyles Company of $29,444.61, are hereby rejected; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this City Council finds, determines, and declares that the work of installing said sewer pipe can be more economically perlflrmad by day labor, and hereby authorize) the City Manager to employ day labor necessary to perform the installation of said sewer lines. ** ** ** ** ** ** Certified to be a full, true and correct copy of Resolution No. 1863 of the City Council of the City of Lodi and that the same was appsed and adopted in regular meeting of said City Council held April 20, 1955.
