RESOLUTION NO. 17$7
REQUESTING A FINDING FROM THE STATE ASSEMBLY
COMMITTEE ON IMPOUNDED FUNDS FROM TIDE AND
SUBMERGED LANDS THAT PRESENTPROVISIONS OF
THE PUBLIC RESOURCES CODE BE RETAINED.
WHEREAS, development of public recreation facilities in
California is a matter of 'urgent importance in view of past,
present and prospective population growth throughout the State;
and
WHEREAS, proper development of such areas in addition
serves the interest of both State and Nation through the preserva-
tion of natural resources; and
WHEREAS, such development may be properly expedited and
expanded through the use of income derived from State tidelands,
which income flows out of one natural resource and may logically
be employed for the preservation of others, and
WHEREAS, such use of these funds is presently provided
for in the Public Resources Code of the State of California,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the State Assembly
Committee on Impounded Funds from Tide and Submerged Lands be
urged to find that these present provisions of the Public Re-
sources Code are proper and that no change therein is justified.
Passed and adopted at an adjourned regular meeting
of the City Council of the City of Lodi on the 23rd
day of December, 1953.
