RESOLUTION NO. 1779
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LODI
GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF THE HEREIN-
AFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "CENTURY
MANOR ADDITION" TO THE CITY uF LODI.
WHEREAS, under the provisions of that certain Act of the
legislature of ttie State of California entitled "Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory act of 1939", proceedings for the annexa-
tion to the City of Lodi of the territory hereinafter particularly
described have been initiated by the filing of a petition for
annexation to the City of Lodi of the territory hereinafter des-
cribed by the owners of not less than one-fourth of the land,
both by area and assessed value, in said territory proposed to
be annexed, and
WHEREAS, the exterior boundaries of said territory des-
cribed in said petition and which territory is contiguous to the
limits of the City of Lodi, San Joaquin County, State of Califor-
nia, are described as follows:
A portion of the Southwest Quarter of Section 2, Town-
ship 3 North, hange 6 Last, Mount Diablo Base and vleri-
dian, and more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of Lot 14 of the
Corinth Tract, as per map filed in Book of Maps, Vol. 13
at Page 39, San Joaquin County Records; thence westerly
along the north line of said Lot 14 and its westerly
extention, which line is also a boundary line 'of the City
of Lodi, 315 feet, more or less, to the Northwest corner
of Lot 13 of said Corinth Tract, which point is also a
corner of the present City Limits; thence N Oo 44' W
along the west line of Corinth Property, as shown on
--snap of survey filed in Book of Surveys, Vol. $ at page
41, San Joaquin County Records, 1498.75 feet, more or
less, to the north line of the Southwest Quarter of said
Section 2, which line is also the present boundary line
of the City of Lodi; thence easterly along said north
line and City boundary line 488.0 feet, more or less,
to the northeast corner of said Corinth property, which
point is also also a corner of the present City boundary
line; thence southerly along the east line of said
Corinth property and City boundary line to a point bear-
ing due East from the Northeast corner of Lot 14 of said
Corinth Tract, which point is also a corner of the pre-
s,,nt City boundary line; thence due west along the pre-
sent City boundary line to the point of beginning, con-
taining 16.69 acres, more or.less.
WHEREAS, the aforesaid petition for annexation of the ter-
ritory hereinbefore described to the City of Lodi, a municipal
corporation, has been filed with and received by the Council of
the City of Lodi, and
WEEREAS, the San Joaquin County Boundary Commission has
approved the description of the proposed annexation as to
definiteness and certainty, and
WHEREAS, less than twelve registered voters reside within
said territory thereby qualifying the territory for annexation
under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory
Act of 1939, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. That the City Council of the City of Lodi does by this
resolution give notice of such proposed annexation: does hereby
designate said territory as "Century Manor :addition"; and, fur-
ther, does fix Wednesday, January 6, 1954, at the hour of 8:00
o'clock p.m., at the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Lodi,
California, as the day, hour, and place when and where any per-
son owning real property within such territory so proposed to
be annexed and having any objection to•the proposed annexation
may appear before the City Council and show cause why such terri-
tory should not be so annexed.
2. That the Clerk of the City ofi Lodi. be, and he is here-
by directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published
at least twice in the "Lodi News -Sentinel", a newspaper printed,
published, and circulated in the City of Lodi, the municipal
corporation to which it is proposed to annex the hereinbefore
described territory, and at least twice in the "Stockton Record",
a newspaper printed, published, and circulated outside the City
of Lodi, all in the time, form, and manner required by law.
3. That at any time not later than the hour set for hearing
objections to the proposed annexation, any owner of property with-
in the territory proposed to be annexed may file written protest
against the proposed annexation; that such protests shall state
the name or names of the owner or owners of the property affected
thereby and the description and area of such property in general
terms.
CERTIFIED to be a full, true and correct copy of
Resolution No. 1779 of the City Council of the City
of Lodi and that the same was passed and adopted
in regular meeting of said City Council held
