RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LODI
GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF THE HERE-
INAFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "51ST
ADDITION, LANDS NORTH OF WEST LOCREFORD STREET AND
WEST OF HAM LANE" TO THE CITY OF LODI
WHEREAS, under the provisions of that certain Act of the
Legislature of the State of California entitled "Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939", proceedings for the annexation
to the City of Lodi of the territory hereinafter particularly
described have been initiated by the filing of a petition for
annexation to the City of Lodi of the territory hereinafter des-
cribed by the owners of not less than one-fourth of the land,
both by area and assessed value, in said territory proposed to
be annexed, and
WHEREAS, the exterior boundaries of said territory described
in said petition and which territory is contiguous to the limits
of the City of Lodi, San Joaquin County, State of California,
are described as follows:
A portion of the Northwest Quarter of Section 2, Town-
ship 3 North, Range 6 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meri-
dian, San Joaquin County, and being more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection between
the east line of the Northwest Quarter of Section 2,
T3N, R6E, M.D.B. & M., and the south line of Lake Street
and running westerly along said south line of Lake
Street to its intersection with the present boundary
line of the City of Lodi, said line being also the
east line of Lot 15 as designated on official map of
"Gerard Tract", map filed August 8, 1916 in Book of
Maps and Plats, Vol. 8, page 62, records of San Joaquin
County; thence southerly along said east line and its

southerly extension, said line being also the present
boundary line of said City, to the southeast corner of
Lot 30 of said Gerard Tract, said corner being also a
corner of the present boundary line of said City; thence
westerly along the south line of said Lot 30, said line
being also the present boundary line of said City, 110.7
feet, more or less,to the northeast corner of the "Ralmar
Addition", annexed to the City of Lodi on May 26, 1950,
which point is also a corner of the present boundary
line of said City; thence southerly along the present
City boundary line, said line being parallel to and
110.7 feet westerly from the east line of Lot 31 of said
Gerard Tract and the southerly extension thereof, to its
intersection with the center line of West Lockeford
Street; thence easterly along said center line to its
intersection with the east line of the Northwest Quarter
of said Section 2; thence northerly along said east line
to its intersection with the south line of Lake Street
and the point of beginning, containing 15.75 acres, more
or less.
WHEREAS, the aforesaid petition for annexation of the terri-
tory hereinbefore described to the City of Lodi, a municipal
corporation, has been filed with and received by the City Council
of the City of Lodi, and
WHEREAS, the San Joaquin County Boundary Commission has approved
the description of the proposed annexation as to definiteness and
certainty, and
WHEREAS, less than twelve registered voters reside within
said territory thereby qualifying the territory for annexation
under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory
Act of 1939, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. That the City Council of the City of Lodi does by this
resolution give notice of such proposed annexation; does hereby
designate said territory as "51st Addition, Lands North of West
Lockeford Street and West of Ham Lane" and, further, does fix
Wednesday, August 19, 1953, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m.
at the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Lodi, California, as
the day, hour, and place when and where any person owning real
property within such territory so proposed to be annexed and having
any objection to the proposed annexation may appear before the
City Council and show cause why such territory should not be so
annexed.
2. That the Clerk of the City of Lodi be, and he is, hereby
directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at
least twice in the "Lodi News -Sentinel", a newspaper printed,
published, and circulated in the City of Lodi, the municipal
corporation to which it is proposed to annex the hereinbefore
described territory, and at least twice in the "Stockton Record",
a newspaper printed, published, and circulated outside the City
of Lodi, all in the time, form, and manner required by law.
3. That at any time not later than the hour set for hearing
objections to the proposed annexation, any owner of property within
the territory proposed to be annexed may file written protest
against the proposed annexation; that such protests shall state the
name or names of the owner or owners of the property affected thereby
and the description and area of such property in general terms.
CERTIFIED to be a full, true and correct copy of Resolution
No. 175$ of the City Council of the City of Lodi and that the
same was passed and adopted in regular meeting of said City Council
held July 15, 1953.
