HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 1719RESOLUTION NO. 1719 APPROVING THE COMMERCIAL USE LIST ADOPTED BY THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION WHEREAS, in Ordinance No. 469, Section 9.1, it is required that a Use List be adopted by the Planning Com- mission of the City of Lodi to amplify the general types of business permitted in the C-1 and C-2 zones, and WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission by Resolution No. 1, pursuant to said ordinance, has adopted such Use List, a copy of which list is attached hereto and made a part hereof as though set forth in full, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lodi that the Use List provided by Ordinance No. 469, and which use list is set forth in Resolution #1 of the City Planning Commission of the City of Lodi which is attached hereto, be and the same is hereby approved by the City Council. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution No. 1719 was duly and regularly adopted by a unanimous vote of the City Council of the City of Lodi at the regularly held meeting of said City Council on Wednesday j January 21, 1953. SORE, be it resolved that this City Planning Commission has adopted at its regular meeting dated January 12, 1953, the following Use List along with the reference source listed: C-1 COMMERCIAL DISTRICT - NE IGHBOfl1 OOD COMMERCIAL I. GENERAL USES PERMITTED: A. ALL USES PERMITTED in the R-•4 Residence District -Multiple Family -Institutional --with the same Use Permit Restrictions except as specified hereunder. II, BUSINESS USES PERMITTED: For statement of General Intent see Zoning Ordinance under C-1 Commercial District, Buildings for the following Uses include Accessory Buildings and Uses thereto. B. RETAIL STORES: 1. General Merchandising: Variety Stores --General Merchandising --Not Department Stores. 2. The general Criteria for such uses are as follows: 1. Such stores etc. to be conducted wholly within an encloeiw ed building except automotive service stations and park ing lots. 2, No manufacture or processing or treatment of products other than that which is clearly incidental and essential to a retail business and where such completed products are sold at retail on premises. 3. Such uses or operation or products not to be objection- able due to odor, dust, smoke, noise or similar causes beyond that of the ordinary retail establishment. 4. Exterior signs displayed shall pertain only to uses con- ducted within the building and shall be mounted flat against the building, 5. Uses subject to off-street parking regulations of Zoning Ordinance. F. OTHER USES subject to Securing a Use Permit and to above criteria: Advertising Structures --Automobile Washracks. The general criteria for such uses are similar to those of the C-1 Commercial District, except. where the nature of certain permitted businesses and operations is ouch as to per- mit a broader interpretation of such criteria with respect to such businesses and operations. - 4 - G. REFERENCE SOURCE OF THE ABOVE LISTS OF USES The above Uses Perdtted in the C-1 and C-2 Commercial Dist- ricts are typically referred to as Non -Manufacturing Uses as described in detail in the Standard Industrial Classifi- cation Manual, Volume II -Non -Manufacturing Industries, May, 1949, prepared by the Bureau of the Budget in the Executive Office of the, President.
