RESOLUTION NO. 1708
GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION
OF TERRITQRY TO THE CITY OF LODI AND OF
THE TIME AND PLACE FOR THE HEARING OF
PROTESTS AGAINST SUCH ANNEXATION
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Lodi has received
and filed a petition requesting annexation to the City of Lodi,
signed by owners of property contiguous to the present boundaries
of the City of Lodi, such property being not less than one-fourth
of the land, both by area and by assessed value, hereinafter
described, and
WHEREAS, the natural growth and expansion in the immediate
future of the City of Lodi requires the inclusion of the herein-
after described territory in order that the City of Lodi can
exercise reasonable control over the territory for the benefit
of the health and safety of the community and to protect property
values, and
WHEREAS, less than twelve registered voters reside within
said territory thereby qualifying the territory for annexation
under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory
Act of 1939, and
WHEREAS, the certainty and definiteness of the boundaries
of the proposed annexation were approved by the County Boundary
Commission on November 7, 1952, now therefore,
HE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lodi
does hereby initiate proceedings and declare its intention to
annex to said City, in accordance with the provisions of the
Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, as amended,
that uninhabited territory iri the County of San Joaquin, State
of California, described as follows:

A portion of the North Half of the Southeast Quarter of
Section 11, T3N, R6E, M. D. B. & M., San Joaquin County
and being more particularly described as follows:
Tract
Beginning at the northwest corner of Homesite/as
per map thereof filed for record July 23, 1951, in Vol.
13, at page 104, book of Maps and Plats, San Joaquin
County Records and run Easterly, 307.3 feet to the south.
west corner of Rieck Tract as per map thereof filed for
record February 25, 1952, in Vol. 13, at page 112, Book
of Maps and Plats, San Joaquin County Records; thence
Northerly along the west line of said Rieck Tract,
290.0 feet; thence Easterly along the north line of
said Rieck Tract, 841.5(feet to the east line of said
Quarter; thence N 0° 11' E along said east line,
594.6 feet to a point, being 437.25 feet Southerly from
the northeast corner of said Quarter; thence N 890 02'
W, 841.5 feet; thence N 0° 11 ' E, 154.5 feet; thence
N 89° 07' W, 302.5 feet; thence S 0° 11i' W and parallel
to said east line of said Quarter 889.9 feet to a point,
being 17.735 chains Southerly of the north line of said
Quarter; thence Southerly along the northerly extension
of the west line of said Homesite Tract, 151.2 feet to
the point of beginning, containing 18.5 acres, more or
less.
Reference is hereby made to a map or plat on file in the
office of the City Clerk of this City delineating the boundaries
next above described.
RESOLVED, further, that said territory be designated "47TH
ADDITION", as an appropriate name to be used in reference to
said territory further in these proceedings,
RESOLVED, further, and notice is hereby given that this City
Council has fixed MONDAY, the 22ND DAY OF DECEMBER, 1952, at

7:30 o'clock p:mw of said day and the CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS,
CITY HALL, LODI, CALIFORNIA as the time and place when and where
protests of owners of real property within the boundaries of the
territory proposed for annexation will be heard and considered.
Attention is directed to Section 35312 of the Government Code of
the State of California relative to protests.
RESOLVED, further, that the City Clerk of the City of Lodi
shall cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least
twice, but not oftener than once a week, in a newspaper of general
circulation published in the City, and also in a newspaper of
general circulation published outside of the City in the County
in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed; publi-
cation to be completed at least 20 days prior to date set for
hearing as required by Section 35311 of the Government Code of
this State.
T, HENRY A. GLAVES, JR., City Clerk of the City of Lodi
and ex -officio Clerk of the City Council of said City,
do hereby certify that the foregoing is a full, true
and correct copy of Resolution No. 170$ of the City
Council of the City of Lodi as regularly introduced,
passed and adopted in regular meeting held November
19, 1952, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen, Preszler, Richey, Rinn and
Robinson
NOES: Councilmen, None
ABSENT: Councilmen, Haskell
