RESOLUTION NO. 1704
GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION
OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF LODI AND OF
THE TILE AND PLACE FOR THE HEARING OF
PROTESTS AGAINST SUCH ANNEXATION
WHEREAS, there has been filed with the City Council of
the City of Lodi a written petition containing a description of
uninhabited territory contiguopis to the present boundaries of
said City of Lodi, and signed by not less than one-fourth of
the owners of land, both by area and by assessed value, requesting
that said uninhabited territory be annexed to and made a part of
the City of Lodi, and,
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of Lodi
recommended the annexation of said uninhabited territory to the
City of Lodi, and
WHEaIAS, the certainty and definiteness of the boundaries
of the proposed annexation were approved by the County Boundary
Commission on October 10, 1952, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that it is the intention of the City
Council of the City of Lodi, to annex to said City, in accordance
with the provisions of the Annexation of uninhabited Territory
Act of 1939, as amended, that uninhabited territory in the County
of San Joaquin, State of California, described as follows:
A portion of the north half of Section 1, Township 3
North, Range t East, and a portion of the northwest of
quarter of Section 6, Township 3 North, Range 7 East,
Iount Diablo Base and ieridian, San Joaquin County and
being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of said Section
1 and running west along the north line of said Section
1, 2800.7 feet to its intersection with the west right
of way line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company;
thence southerly along said west Railroad right of way
line 820 feet more or less to its intersection with the
south line of Louie Avenue produced easterly; thence
easterly along said south line of Louie Avenue produced,
100 feet to its intersection with the east right of way
line of said Southern Pacific Railroad Company; thence
southerly along said east railroad right of way line
1245 feet to its intersection with the City Limit line
of the City of Lodi; thence east along said City Limit
line and parallel with the south line of said Section 1,
2940 feet more or less to its intersection with the east
line of State highway X-SJ-4-C (Highway 99); thence
north along said east line of State Highway X-SJ-4-C
(Highway 99) to its intersection with the north line of
Section 6, Township 3 North, kiange 7 Bast, iii. D. B. & N.;
thence westerly along the north line of said Section 6,
32 feet more or less to the northeast corner of Section
1, T3N, R6E, M.D.B.&M. and the point of beginning.
Excepting therefrom that certain 15.05 acre parcel
known as Pioneer Park Addition, annexed to the City of
Lodi in 1935.
Also exceptin6 therefrom Lots 6, 7, and 18 as said
lots are designated on the map of Lawrence Homestead
Addition, filed on April 5, 1920 in Volume 10 at page 5,
Book of Maps and Plats, San Joaquin County Records.
The above described addition contains 104.74 acres,
more or less.
Reference is hereby made to a leap or plat on file in the
office of the City Clerk of this City delineating the boundaries
next above described.
RESOLVE, further, that said territory be designated
"LAWRENCE RANCH ADDITION" as an appropriate name to be used in
reference to said territory further in these proceedings;
RESOLVE, further, and notice is hereby given that this
City Council has fixed FRIDAY, the 21ST DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1952,
at 12:00 o'clock p.m. of said day and the CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS,
CITY HALL, LODI, CALIFORNIA, as the time and place when and where
protests of owners of real property within the boundaries of the
territory proposed for annexation will be heard and considered.
Attention is directed to Section 35312 of the Government Code
of the State of California relative to protests.
RESOLVE, further, that the City Clerk of the City of Lodi
shall cause a copy of this Resolution to be published at least
twice, but not oftener than once a week, in a newspaper of general
circulation published in the City, and also in a newspaper of
general circulation published outside of the City in the County
in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed; publi-
cation to be completed at least 20 days prior to date set for
hearing as required by Section 35311 of the Government Code of
this state.
I, HENRY A. GLAVES, JR., City Clerk of the City of
Lodi and ex -officio Clerk of the City Council of said
City, do hereby certify that the foregoing is a full,
true and correct copy of Resolution No. 1704 of the
City Council of the City of Lodi as regularly intro-
duced, passed and adopted in adjourned session held
October 22, 1952, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen, Preszler, Richey, Rinn, Robinson
and Haskell.
NOES: Councilmen, None
ABSENT: Councilmen, None
