HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 1695 ERIn the City Council City of Lodi Lodi, California RESOLUTION NO. 1695 CALLING FOR AN ELECTION IN THE CITY OF LODI AND REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPER- VISORS OF SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY TO CONSOLI- DATE SAID ELECTION WITH THE STATE-WIDE ELECTION TO BE HELD NOVEMBER 4, 1952 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lodi did on the 5th day of September, 1951, pass Resolution No. 1636, "Resolution of Preliminary Determination in the Matter of the Addition of Fluorine to Water Distributed by the City of Lodi", and WHEREAS, on March 5, 1952, the City Council awarded the contract for installation of fluoridation equipment to Wallace & Tiernan, Inc., and WHEREAS, on this 21st day of May, 1952, this body was confronted by a group of citizens protesting the installation of said fluoridation equipment, therefore BE IT RESOLVED, that the contract awarded to the firm of Wallace & Tiernan, Inc., be and is hereby suspended until further notice in accordance with the terms of said contract, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an election be called for the 4th day of November, 1952, in the City of Lodi, and that citizens of this City be permitted to vote on the question of whether the City of Lodi shall or shall not continue with its arrangements to add fluorides to the water distribution of the City, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the above described election be consolidated with the State-wide election to be held on November 4, 1952, and that a request for such consolidation be placed before the Board of Supervisors of San Joaquin County in accordance with Section 10051.1 of the Elections Code. The proposition to be voted upon shall read as follows; "Shall the City Council of the City of Lodi authorize the installation of fluoridation equipment to the municipal water system in conformity with the speci- fications proscribed by the directives, rules and regulations of the State of California." 0 Certified to be a true copy of Resolution No. 1695 of the City Council of the City of Lodi as authorized in regular meeting of said City Council held May 21, 1952,. enry .
