HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 1675In the City Council City of Lodi Lodi, California RESOLUTION NO.1675 RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LODI TO OPEN AND EXTEND CHESTNUT STREET AND SOUTH CRESCENT AVENUE UNDER PROCEEDINGS TO BE HAD IN ACCOR- DANCE WITH THE STREET OPENING ACT OF 1889 RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lodi that it is the intention of said City Council to order the following work to be done and improvement to be made in the City of Lodi, to -wit: (1) That a public street (hereinafter called Chestnut Street) be opened from South Hutchins Street to the southerly extension of the east line of Crescent Avenue as Crescent Avenue now exists north of West Lodi Avenue, the center line of said Chestnut Street to be a line three hundred fifty-five (355) feet south of the north line of Section 11, Township 3 North, Range 6 East, M. D. B. & M. (2) That a public street (hereinafter called South Cres- cent Avenue) be opened from the south line of West Lodi Avenue to a line three hundred eighty (380) feet distant southerly from the north line of Sec- tion 11, Township 3 North, Range 6 East, the center line of said South Crescent Avenue tobe a line five (5) feet westerly from the southerly continuation of the center line of Crescent Avenue north of West Lodi Avenue and parallel thereto. The land deemed necessary to be acquired and the district to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses of the work and improvement contemplated herein are as follows: Land to be acquired: (a) For Chestnut Street: A strip of land fifty (50) feet in width extending from South Hutchins Street to the southerly continuation of the east line of Crescent Avenue north of West Lodi Avenue, the center line of which 50 -foot strip is 355 feet southerly from the north line of Section 11, T3N, 116E. (b) For South Crescent Avenue: A strip of land seventy (70) feet in width extending for a distance of three hundred eighty (380) feet southerly from the south line of West Lodi Avenue, the center line of which 70 -foot strip is five (5) feet westerly from the southerly continuation of the center line of Crescent Avenue north of West Lodi Avenue and parallel to said southerly continuation. -1- (Res. 1675 - 2) District to be assessed: All lands within the area particularly bounded as follows: Beginning on the intersection of the south line of West Lodi Avenue with the west line of South Hutchins Street and running thence West on and along the south line of West Lodi Avenue 1302 feet to the northwest corner of the land of S. W. Allison, thence south along the west line of the S. W. Allison land four hundred thirty-one and four -tenths (431.4) feet to a point thereon; thence east parallel to the south line of West Lodi Avenue, one thousand three hundred two (1302) feet to the west line of South Hutchins Street; thence north on and along the west line of South Hutchins Street four hundred thirty-one and four - tenths (431.4) feet to the south line of West Lodi Avenue and the point of beginning. Reference is hereby made to a map or plat on file with the City Clerk of the City of Lodi delineating by a red line the boundaries of the district above described which is to be assessed for the improvement herein provided and which district this City Council hereby finds is the district benefited by said work and im- provement. Said' map by this reference is incorporated in and made part of this resolution. RESOLVED, further, that the Superintendent of Streets post notices of the passage of this resolution and cause a copy of said notice to be published all in time, form, manner and number as set forth in Sections 3222 and 3223 of the Streets and Highways Code of this State. =* ** * * ** „„ * ;* ** Adopted by the City Council of the City of Lodi in regular meeting held hilly 7.1 , 1952. .9444 HENRY A.
