RESOLUTION NO. 1623
DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF LODI TO VACATE STURLA STREET,
A PORTION OF SOUTH LEE AVENUE AND THE ALLEY
IN BLOCK SIX (6), ALL IN STURLA SCHOOL ADDI-
TION IN THE CITY OF LODI.
WHEREAS, the owners of real property abutting on the
streets and alley hereinafter described, have petitioned this
City Council that the same be vacated and closed up as public
streets; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of Lodi
has approved the vacation of said streets and alley and has so
reported to this City Council; and
WHEREAS, this City Council finds and determines that said
street, portion of street and public alley are unnecessary for
present or prospective street purposes or will, in part, be re-
placed with another street in better alignment than the present
street;
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lodi resolves
as follows:
Section 1: That it is the intention of the City Council
of the City of Lodi, acting in accordance with the provisions of
Part 3 of Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State
of California, hereby expressed, to vacate, close up as a public
street and abandon the following streets, alley &nI perti mils 8f
street, to -wit:
Sturla Street from South Pleasant Avenue to South
Hutchins Street (Quimby Avenue); South Lee Avenue
from the south line of the Alley in Blocks Five
(5) and Six (6) of Sturla School Addition to the
North line of Sturla Street and the Twenty -foot
wide alley in said Block Six (6) all as delineated
on the Official Map of Sturla School Addition
filed April 6, 1920 in Book of Maps, Vol. 10,
page 6, San Joaquin County Records.

Reference is hereby made to a map or plat on file with
the office of the City Clerk of the City of Lodi for the particulars
as to the proposed vacation.
Section 2: The City Council of the City of Lodi does
hereby find that public convenience and necessity require the
reservation and exception from said vacation of the alley in
Block Six (6) of said Sturla School Addition, the permanent ease-
ment and right at any time to maintain, operate and construct
lines of pipe, conduit, cables, poles, equipment and fixtures
for the operation of water, sewer, gas, telephone and electric
linea now located in or to be located in said alley, all as met
forth in Section 8330 of the Streets and Highways Code; and the
City Council of the City of Lodi does hereby reserve and except
from said vacation of the alley in Bleck Six (6) of said Sturla
School Addition the easement and rights as set forth above.
Section 3: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that this City Council
does hereby fix WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 15, 1951, AT THE HOUR OF 8:15
P.M. AND THE CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, LODI, CALIFORNIA,
as the time and place when and where all persona interested in
or objecting to the vacation herein proposed may appear before
this City Council and be heard. From the evidence so submitted
the City Council will make its election.
Section 4: Upon the adoption of this resolution the
Superintendent of Streets shall post, or cause to be posted,
"NOTICE OF STREET VACATION" in time, form and manner and con-
tents as required by law.
Section 5: This resolution shall be published one time
in THE LODI TIMES, a newspaper of general circulation, printed
and published in the City of Lodi, and shall be in force and
take effect on its passage.

CERTIFIED to be a full, true and correct copy of
Resolution No. 1623 of the City Council of the City
of Lodi and that the same was passed and adopted in
regular meeting of said City Council held July 18,
1951, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen, HASKELL, BULL, PRESZLER
and TOLLIVER
NOES: Councilmen, NONE
