WI DECLARING THE INTENT/ON OP THE CITY COUNCIL OP THE CITY OP LODI TO ANNEX CERTAIN LANDS IN THE SOUTHWEST ONE-QUARTER OF SECTION 2, TOWNSHIP 3 NORTH, RANGE 6 EAST, N.D.B. & I; SETTING A DA's POR mg HEARING OP OBJECTIONS TO SUCH ANNEXATION AND DESTGNATINO THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO 8E ANNEXED AS "CORINTH ADDITION"., WHEREAS, The owners of more than onewtourth of' the area and representing in excess of one-fourth of the assessed valuation of the hereinafter described uninhabited territory In San Joaquin County contigubua to tains City have petitioned the City Council of the City of Lodi, requesting that said territory be annexed to and made part of the City of Lodi, and, WHEREAS, The City Planning Commission of this City, at its meeting held December 5, 1949 did approve the annexation as pe- titioned, finding that the design of the loss included therein, the construction of the buildings thereon and pubilo improvements now exi icing are not tnfep1nr to those required by the laws, or- dinances and regulation of this City, and, WHEREAS, This City Council deems that it is to the beast interests of the City of Lodi that this territory be annexed, part thereof being held for the building of additional school facilities which should necessarily be afforded fire and police protection and water and sanitary fscilitiea. Other properties therein being adjacent to highly improved residential property inside the City should be subject to City zoning regcxlaationaa in, order to provide for orderly development thereof in keeping with its location. Service from the City for fire protection, sewage disposal and garbage collection together with services from the Lodi water and electric systems will be essential to subdivisions now developed and contemplated, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, That it is the intention of this City Council of . the City of Lodi, hereby expressed, to annex said territory to said City in accordance with proceedings had and to be had conform- ing to the provisions of the "Annexation of Uninhab.ted Territory Act of 1939" as amended, designating said territory f crr the purposes hereof as "CORINTH ADDITION", as an appropriate name therefor. Said territory is particularly bounded and described as follows: A portion of the Southwest One Quarter of Section Two, Township Three North, Range Six East(SW} Sect.2, T3N,R6E, M.D.B. & E.); Beginning on the Southeast Corner of said quarter section, thence North 0° 37' West on the East line thereof thirty (30) feet; thence East twenty-five (25) feet to the Southwest Corner of Hutchins Homestead Addition No. 3 (map filed April 27, 1938 in Vol. 11, page 34 of Maps and Flats, San Joaquin County Records); thence North O° 37?t West on and along the West boundary line of Hutchins Homestead Addition No. 3 and its northerly production to the center line of West Oak Street; thence West on the center line of West Oak Street, produced West, twenty-five (25) feet to the East line of the SW+ of Section 2, T3N, R6E; thenes North 00 37' West on said East line to a railroad spike therein which is four hundred twenty-five (425) feet North of the Northeast Corner of the South ten acres of the East thirty-three acres of the SW of Section 2, T3N, R6E; thence Westerly 546.25 feet to the West line of the East 33 acres of the SWR of Section 2, T3N, R6E; thence Northerly on this West line to the North line of said quarter section; thence North 390 kit West along the quarter line 301.9 feet to the Northwest corner of that certain 48.72 acre tract of land conveyed by Faith Foppi.ano to Lodi Union High School District by deed recorded July 13, 1948 in 0.1i. 1157/97, San Joaquin County Records; thence South 00 34' East on the West line of ,said 48.72 acre tract to the intersection thereof with the North line of Lots 13 and 14 of "Corinth Tract" (map filed June 16, 1949 in Vol. 13, page 226, Book of Maps and Plats, San Joaquin County Records) produced East; thence West along the North line of Lots 13 and 14, Corinth Tract and their Easterly production 485 feet) to the Northwest corner of said Lot 13; thence South 00 441 East along the West line of Corinth T'&st 1150 feet to a point on the South line of Section 2, T3N, R6E, which is 814.1 feet East of the Southwest corner of said Section; thence East on the s.eotion line 1285 feet, more or less, to the West line of the East 33 acres of the SWI of Section 2, T3N, R6E; thence North 00 37t West along this West line 800 feet, more or less, to the Northwest corner of the South 10 acres of the East 33 acres of said SW1 Section, being also the Northwest corner of that certain 4.3 acre tract of land annexed to the City as "Memorial Hospital Addition" by proceedings completed December 11, 1947; thence Easterly on the North line of said 10 acres, 521.2,E feet to the Nest line of John Hutchins Road (Hem Lane); thence South C° 371' East on this West line 800 feet, more or less, to the South line of Section 2, T3N, R6E; thence Easterly on this section line 25 feet to the Southeast corner of the Southwest it of Section 2, Township 3 North, Range 6 East and the point of beginning of the tract of land herein proposed for annexation, containing 66.$ acres, more or less. 3E IT FURTHER RESOLVED, And hereby ordered, and notice le hereby given, that this City Council has fixed WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 4, 1950 AT THE HOUR OP 8100 ©'CLACK P.N. OP SAID DAY AND THE CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL,, LODI, CAL!PORNTA, as the time and place when and where written protests or objections to the annexa- tion proposed herein will be received, read and considered. Attention is directed to Section 35312 of the Government Code of this State relating to protests against annexation. The City Clerk will cause a copy of this Resolution to be published in The Lodi Times, a weekly newepaper of general circulation, printed and published in this City, for two consecu- tive weeks prior to the date of hearing above noticed. 1, J.
