RESOLUTION NO. 1436
1HEREAS, on the 19th day of July, 1948, this City did make and enter
into an agreement with J. V. L. Coffelt and Hazel Coffelt, husband and wife,
whereby the City by payment of $100.00 and the further payment of 4100.00 at times
mentioned therein would have the right to purchase certain lands hereinafter
particularly described ( and said payments have been so made ) for a total sum
of 15,500.00, and,
WHEREAS, this City Council after careful consideration has determined
that it is to the beat interests of the City that these lands be acquired, there-
fore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Attorney be, and he is hereby authorized
and directed, to give Written notice as provided in the agreement first herein
mentioned to the said J. V. L. Coffelt and Hazel Coffelt, that this City elects
to purchase and will purchase the following described property:
THE EAST ONE-HAXF OF THE NE} OF SECT. 19, T3N, R8E, EXCEPTING
THE WEST 60 ACRES OF SAID QUARTER SECTION AND EXCEPTING ALSO
A STRIP OF LAND HERETOFORE CONVEXED TO EAST BAY MUNICIPAL
UTILITY DISTRICT, CONTAINING 50 ACRES, MORE OR LESS.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a warrant be drawn on the City Treasury
payable to and deposited with Stockton Abstract and Title Company in the amount
of $5,300.00 to be delivered to J. V. L. Coffelt and Hazel Coffelt on delivery
of a good and sufficient deed to the property herein and in said option agreement
described together with a policy of title insurance as in said agreement provided.
The Mayor and the City Attorney are hereby instructed and empowered to effect
the purposes hereof.

Certified to be a full, true and correct copy of Resolution
No. 1436 and that the name was passed and adopted by the City Council of
the City of Lodi in adjourned regular meeting held August 25, 1948, by the
following vote:
ALES: Councilmen, Haskell, Lytle, and Sinn.
NOES: Councilmen, None.
ABSENT: Councilmen, Bull and Tolliver.
