HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 1416In the City Council City of Lodi Lodi, California RESOLUTION N0. 1416 RESOLUTION DECLARING RESULT OF ELECTION Whereas, a general municipal election was held and conducted in the City of Lodi on Tuesday, the lath day of April, 1948, as is required by law, and WHEREAS, it appears from the report of the City Clerk and the records on file in his office that notice of said election was duly and legally given; that voting pre- cincts were properly established and the polling places thereof designated; that election officers were appointed and qualified; that election supplies including official ballots were furnished each of said precincts and that, in all res- pects, said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat received and canvassed and the returns thereof made, determined and declared in time, form and manner as required by laws of this state providing for and regulating municipal elections in sixth class cities, and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lodi meet- ing at the Council Chambers thereof on this Tuesday, the 20th day of April, 1948, ___ , , _ _ _ _ to can- vass the returns of said election and to install the newly elected officers, finds, as a result of said count and can- vass that the number of votes cast, the names of the persons voted for, the offices for which said election was held and all other matters required by law to be as hereinafter stated, now therefore, IT IS HEREBY FOUED, DETERMINED AND DECLARED: (1) That said general municipal election was held and conducted in the City of Lodi, California on the 13th day of April, 1948, in the time, form, and manner required by law; (2) That there were six voting precincts established in said City for the purpose of holding said election, as rollows: CONSOLIDATED VOTING PRECINCTS A, comprising San Joaquin County precincts 1, 2, 3, and 23 as es- tablished for holding state and county elections. CONSOLIDATED VOTING, PRECINCT I3, comprising San Joaquin County precincts L., 5, 6, and 22 as es- tablished for holding state and county elections. CONSOLIDATED VOTING PRECINCT 0, comprising San Joaquin County precincts 7, 8, 9, and 18 as es- tablished for holding state and county elections. CONSOLIDATED VOTING PRECINCT D, comprising San Joaquin County precincts 10, 11, 13, and 19 as es- tablished for holding state and county elections. CONSOLIDATED VOTING PRECINCT E, comprising San Joaquin County precincts 12, 11, and 15 as es- tablished for holding state and county elections. CONSOLIDATED VOTING PRECINCT F, comprising San Joaquin County precincts 16, 17, 20, and 21 as es- tablished for holding state and county p acts . (3) That the whole number of ballots cast in said City of Lodi at the said election was TWO THOUSAND THREE UUNDRED EIGHTY-EIGHT (2388) . TOLLIVER was reelected a member of the City Council for a term of four years from and after Tues- day, April 20, 1914.8, and until his successor shall have qualified. CLIFFORD B. BULL was elected a member of the City Council for a term of four years from and after Tuesday, April 20, 1948, and until his successor shall have been elected and shall have qualified. Upon the adoption of this Resolution, the City Clerk shall enter a full copy thereof an the Records of this City Council for its meeting of Tuesday, April 20, 1948. 0 -3- 1, J. F. BLAKELY, City Clerk of the City of Lodi and ex -officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution No. 114.16 was adopted by the City Council of the City of Lodi at a meeting thereof held pursuant to law on the 20th day of April, 1910, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Lytle, iWascited, Tolliver, and Rinn.
