HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 1381In the City Council, City of Lodi, Lodi, California EE.SOLUTIUN RC. 1381 ',' iEREAS, reorganization of the fiscal functions of this City must be made in order to pro.oerly distribute the burdens and responsibili- ties heretofore concentrated in the office of the City Clerk occasioned by the increases in population and area of this City, by the prospective addition of sewer rentals and a comprehensive business license tax and by the present addition of parking meters, and, WHEREAS, pending the receipt of reports from Public Administration Service recommending radical changes in the fiscal system of the City of Lodi, certain work, surveys, and investigations must be made and accounts thereof set up, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that the position of City Co11.°ctor be and the same is hereby created outside the personnel system of this City, the duties of such office to be prescribed by this City Council from time to time as necessity shall demand and for the present to include but not be limited to: 1. The receipt and de,osit of parkin6 meter moneys. 2. The conduct of a survey of all dwellings receiving sewer service from this City's sewer system. 3. The collection of business licenses at and from the initia- tion of a new license ordinance. 4. The collection of public utility bills when tis function is transferred f om the office of the City Clerk. The salary and compensation of such City Collector shall, from and after the lst day of December 1947, be 300.00 per month and the City Treasurer is hereby named Citv Collector, such compensation, as above provided, to be in addition to his present salary as City Treasurer. Said City Treasurer shall serve as City Collector at the pleasure of the City Council. Adopted December 3, 1947.
