WHEREAS, The Pacific Telepune and Telegraph Company has filed
with the ;ublic Utilities Commission of the State of California an amend-
ment to its Application No. 28211 for an increase of ap ;roximately 40 i
in tele:hone rates in the State of California, and
WHEREAS, the said The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company
was granted increases in rates ei'fective July 6, 1947 amounting to 0.0,
500,000 or more, and
WI -MEAS officials of Central California have organized to secure
legal Counsel, technical and accounting advice necessary to protest this
further increase in te-:enone rates and have contributed money to pay the
cost and expenses of the same, therefore

That the City of Lodi contribute to the c .st of wrote Sting the
application hereinbefore mentioned and that a warrant on the City
Treasurer be drawn in the amount of ','500.\0 payable to the City of Sacra-
mento and mailed to Everett M. G: enn, City attorney of said City for use
in securing technical assistance necessary to ;_roperly resist this
application before the t-ublic Utilities Conunission of the State of Calif-
ornia.
