HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 1311RESOLUTION NO. 1311 RESOLUTION GIBING NOTICE THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LODI PROPOSES TO ANNEX CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO SAID CITY, DESIGNATED FOR THE PURPOSES HERE- OF "CAIN -HAZARD ADDITION" AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN. WHEREAS, on the 9th day of April 1947 this City Council did receive the petition of G. E. Hazard and Florence S. Hazard, his wife and Leonard T. Cain and LaVerne M. Cain his wife owners of more than one-fourth of the area and represent- ing more than one-fourth of the assessed valuation of the property affected hereby, requesting that the hereinafter described territory, contiguous to this City and uninhabited within the meaning of the act, be annexed to and made part of the City of Lodi in accordance with proceedings to be had pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939" as amended, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Lodi, hereby expressed, to annex the said uninhabited territory to said City under proceedings to be had in accordance with the provisions of the "Annexation of Un— inhabited Territory Act of 1939" as amended. For the purposes of such annexation, the said territory is hereby designated "Cain -Hazard" addition for identification and is particularly bounded and described as follows: A portion of Lots 1 and 5, in Block 13, Hutchins Addition to Lodi, as per map thereof filed April 10, 1897 in Vol. 1, at page 58, Book of Maps and Plats, San Joaquin County Records, and portion of the North- east Quarter of Section 2, Township 3 North, Range 6 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian, San Joaquin County and being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point on the east line of said Lot 5, 289.5 feet, more or less, south of the northeast corner of said Lot 5, said point of beginning being also the northeast corner of the Fugazi property as described in deed filed in Book A of Deeds, Vol. 472 at page 365, San Joaquin County Records; thence Northerly aleh8 said oast lino And its northerly projection, 643.4 feet to the south line of Vest Lockeford Street; thence westerly along said south line, 541.4 feet to the east line of the Fugazi property as described by deed filed in Book A of Deeds, Vol. 92, at page 43, San Joaquin County Records; thence southerly along said east line 384.6 feet to a point on the north line of said Lot 1, said point being easterly, 401.5 feet from the northwest corner of said Lot I, thence South and parallel to the west line of said Lot 1, 287.2 feet to a pipe; thence easterly and parallel to the south line of said Block 13, 573.5 feet to the point of beginning, containing 8.5 acres, more or less, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND NOTICP, IS HEREBY GIVEN, that this City Council has fixed 'Wednesday the 7th day of May, 1947 at the hour of 8:00 otclock P. M. of said day and the Council Chambers of this City Council in the City Hall, Lodi, California, as the time and place when and where written or oral protests or objections will be received, heard and considered from property owners affected hereby. Such protests or objections must conform to the provisions of Section 6 of the act under which it is proposed to annex this territory. The City Clerk will give notice of the adoption of this resolution by causing the same to be published for at least two consecutive weeks in The Lodi Times, a weekly newspaper printed and published in this City and hereby designated for this purpose. e-4:0 ef.ir City ncilman I.
