RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE THAT THE -CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LODI PROPOSES TO ANNEX CERTAIN UNINHABITED
TERRITORY TO SAID CITY, DESIGNATED FOR THE PURPOSES 'SOF,
1BALLENTYNE ADDITION, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN.

WHEREAS, on this 2nd day of April, 1947, this City Council did receive
the petition of J. N. Ballentyne and Jessie L. Ballentyne, his wife, and
Utah Construction Copany, a corporation and Leland A. Cook, an individual,
owners of more than one-fourth of the area and representing more than one-
fourth of the assessed valuation of the property affected thereby, requesting
that the hereinafter described territory, contiguous of this City and un-
inhabited within the meaning of the act, be annexed to and made part of the
City of Lodi in accordance with proceedings to be had pursuant to the provis-
ions of the "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939" as amended, and,
WHEREAS, upon receipt of said petition, and prior to any action thereon,
the same was ordered referred to the City Planning Commission for recommendation
and report and the said City Planning Commission, in regular meeting on the
7th day of April, 1947 did report to this City Council that the lands proposed
for annexation by said petition and the improvements thereon were not inferior
to the standards of design, building construction requirements and public
improvements required by the ordinances, laws and regulations of this City,
which said report was received by this City Council on the 9th day of April,
1947, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that it is the intention of the City Council of the City
of Lodi, hereby expressed, to annex said uninhabited territory to said City
under proceedings to be had in accordance with the provisions of the
"Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939", as amended. For the purposes
of such annexation, the said territory is hereby designated "Ballentyne
Addition" for identification and is particularly bounded and described
as follows:
Commending on the section corner common to Sections 35 and 36
Township 4 North, Range 6 East and Sections 1 and 2, Township
3 North, Range 6 East, M.D.B. & 3L, thence East along the township
line 594.4 feet to the property corner capon to the lands of
Louis Sanguinetti and Leland A. Cook, thence N 10 30' W 30 feet
to the north line of Woodbridge (Turner) Road, to a point, which
point is on the north boundary line of the City of Lodi and is
the true point of beginning of the property herein proposed for
annexation, thence continuing N 10 30t W along the common property
line of said Sanguinetti and Cook, 1058 feet, thence West 32 feet to
the south bank of the Moke1umrie River, the ce meandering along the
south bank of said river in a general West rly direction, down stream
to the point of intersection of the sante w th the west line of North
California Street projected northerly, thence 8 00 20' E 1851 feet along
said northerly projection to its intersection with the north line
of Woodbridge (Turner) Road, such intersection being on the present
north boundary line of the City of Lodi, thence Easterly on and along
said boundary line to the point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, AND NOTICE I5 HEREBY UlVJl, that taus uity
Council has fixed Wednesday, the 7th day of May, 1917 at the hour of
8:00 o'clock P.M. of said day and the Council Chambers of this City Council
in the City Hall, Lodi, California, as the time and place when and where
written or oral protests or objections will be received, heard and
considered from property owners affected hereby. Such protests or
objections must conform to the provisions of Section 6 of the act under
which it is proposed to annex this territory.
The City'Clerk will give notice of the adoption of this resolution
by causing the same to be publibhed for at least two consecutive weeks
in The Lodi Times, a weekly newspaper printed and published in this City
and hereby designated for this purpose.

of the City Council of said City, do hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution No. 1309 was was regularly introduced, passed and adopted by
the said. City Council in adjourned regular meeting thereof held on the
9th day of April, 1947 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen, Lytle, Haskell, Riggs, Tolliver and Rinn
