HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2497RESOLUTION NO. 2497 WHEREAS, the lack of improved sidewalks in the City of Lodi in many ;natsnoes forces pedestrians, including school children, to walk in the streets and to be subjected to the hazards of vehicular traffic, and the lack of sidewalk6 during rainy weather has caused unhealthy conditions resulting from pedestrians walk- Ang through mud or water along streets or dirt sidewalks; and WHEREAS, the 1a.ok of improved curbs and guttors in the City of Lodi parmita poor drainage, puddles of water, the accumulation of filth, and subjects pedestrians and children in the normal sidewalk area to increased risk from accidental injury by ve- hicular traffic; and WHEREAS, the lack of improved streets in the City of Lodi also permits poor drainage, puddles of water, the accumulation of filth and, in addition, impedes the operation of fire trucks, police cars and other emergency vehicles. NOW THEREFORE, pursuant to the foregoing findings, the City Council of the City of Lodi does hereby adopt this Resolution as the basis and reason for the introduction and subsequent adoptiun of Ordinanoe t3 o . `/i'+ of the City of Lodi, adding Article V to Chapter 5 of the Lodi City Code, 1959.
