HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2451RESOLUTION N0. 2451 INCREASING THE AUTO MILEAGE ALLOWANCE WHFMASA it was in 1948 that the City of Lodi adopted its present mileage allowance rates for use of private automobiles while on public business; WHEREAS, the present rates of $.07 a mile for trips involving 100 miles or less and 9.05 a mile for trips of over 100 miles are inadequate Lo justly compensate an individual for nis automotive expense in connection with City business; WHEREAS, the 1961 salary survey published by the League of California Cities gives data showing that of 81 cities over 5,000 population, 15 cities pay $.0? per mile 32 cities pay $.08 per mile, 10 cities pay $.09 per mile and 24 cities pay X 0 per mile and that of 39 cities under 5 000 population, 15 cities ay 4.06 per mile, 3 cities pay $Z per mile and 21 cities pay .10 per mile:, also., the Countv of San Joasuin pays S.08 z)er mile to its employees and officials -using their private automobiles on public business; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED that the City (oQw cil of the City of Lodi, County or San Joaquin, State of California, establishes the policy of paying a flat rate of $.08 per mile effective July 1, 1961, to City employees and officials who find it necessary to use their private automobiles on public business.
