RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO
CITY OF LODI OF UNIEHARITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN
AND DESIGNATED "CHIARPE.ADDITIONN.AND GIVING NOTICE
OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LCL)1:
1_ That, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, a petition signed by owners
of all of the land in the hereinafter described territory, by ares
and by assessed value as shown on the last equalized assessment
roll of the County of San Joaquin, was filed with the Council of
the City of Lodi on June 22, 1961, requesting annexation of the
hereinafter described territory to said City.
2. That the territory which the petitioners request be
annexed to the City of Lodi and which said City and its Council
proposed to annex, is situate in the County of San Joaquin, State
of California, hereby designated "Chiappe Addition" and described
as follows:
A portion of tki Northwest L+uarter or Sr ctiorl 11,
Township 3 North, Range 6 East, Mount Diablo Base and
Meridian, County of San Joaquin, State of California,
and further described as follows:
Beginning at the Southeast corner or trle Nortia-
wast quarter of Section 11, Townski1p 3 North, Range 6
East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian; thence Westerly
along the South line of said Quarter 150 feet to the
true point of beginning; thence continuing Westerly
along the South line of said Quarter 1170.6 feet, more
or less, to the Southwest corner of the parcel deeded
to Anthony Chiappe and Gladys Bernice Chiappe by deed
recorded January 19, 1960 in Book 2258, page 161, San.
Joaquin County Records; thence Northerly 409.63 fret

along the West line of said parcel to the Northwest
corner of said parcel; thence Easterly 957.31 feet
along the North line of said parcel to the Southwest cor-
ner of the parcel deeded to Anthony Herbert Chiappe by
a decree of final distribution recorded on October 9,
1959 in Book 2225, page 216, San Joaquin County Records;
thence North 00 6*' East along the West line of said
parcel deeded to Anthony Herbert Chiappe 409.63 feet
t o the Northwest corner of the property deeded t o Anthony
Chiappe and Gladys Bernice Chiappe by deed recorded on
January 19, 1960 in Book 2258, page 160, San Joaquin
County Hecords; thence Easterly along the North line
of said parcel 213.2 faet, more or less, to the present
City Limit Line, which is 150 feet West of and parallel
to the East line of said Quarter Section; thence South-
erly along the City Limit Line 819.26 feet to the true
point of beginning; the area thus described containing
13.0 acres, more or less.
3. mat the County Boundary Cuiucuissiprn of Saiz Joaquin County,
Cali1'or.ua, did ill session duly assembled on June 13, 1961, con-
sider and approve the proposed annexation boundaries of said "Chiappe
Addition," as above dascribed, and as submitted to said Commission
by the proponents of said annexation.
4• That Wednesday, August 2, 1961, at the hour of 8 p.m.,
in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Lodi,
County Of San Joaquin, California, i s hereby fixed as the time
and place when and where any person owning real property within
the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be
annexed. to the City of Lodi, and having any objections to the
proposed annexation may appear before the Council of the City
of Lodi and show cause why such uninhabited territory should

not be so annexed to the City or Lodi. The. protest must be
in writing, may be filed at any time before the hour set for
hearing objections to the proposed annexation and shall state
the name or names of the Owner or owners of property affected
and the description and area of such property, in general terms.
5. The City Clerk of the City of Lodi is hereby authorized
and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published
at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the "Lodi
News -Sentinel," a newspaper of general circulation published in
said City of Lodi, the city to which it is proposed to annex
the aforesaid territory, said publication to be complete at
least twenty days prior to the date set for hearing.
6. In the event there is, upon the land proposed to be
annexed to said City, a structural improvement owned, being
acquired or leased by a county fire protection district, the
City Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such proposed
annexation to be mailed to the governing body of such district,
such notice to be sent not less than ten days before the first
public hearing upon such proposed annexation.
7. The City Clerk is directed to cause writtet, notice to
be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto,
in the manner required by law.

of the City of Lodi in regularly adjourned meeting
held June 22, 1961, by the following vote:
