HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2366RESOLUTION No. 2366 OPPOSING' PROPOSITION 15 WHICH PROVIDES FOR RE- APPORTIONMENT OF THE STATE SFNATE WHEREAS, Proposition 15 would destroy California's system of government and deprive city residents in many parts of the State of the voice and representation in the Senate which they now enjoy and to which they are entitled; and 1iffiRREAB, Proposition 15, under the guise of better repre- sentation, actually would destroy our modified federal plan and would deprive the less populous areas of the State and the citizens of such areas of tne effective representation which thwy now enjoy by making their Senators geographically ineoeessible and unrepresentative and thereby create the same condition of unfair- ness which the proponents of Proposition 15 seek to correct; BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lodi treat Proposition 15 is opposed as an inequitable neasure which would be detrimental to the State of California.
