R SOLLMON URGING THE FB30NS1PJJCE0N AND
WIDENING OF STATE SIGN ROUTE 12 BETWEEN
THE MOKELUMN , RIVER kD U. S . HIGHWAY 99
WHEREM, State Highway 12 provides a vital link between
the Mother Lodf area of the State and the coastal areas of
Northern California, and
traffic on said highway has increased within
recent years and present indications are that this increase
will continue, and

-gnstruction of a new portion of said highway
between Rio Vista and the Mokelumne River has now been
authorized by the State Highway Commissions and
Rna the City Council of the City of Lodi is
interested in expediting the reconstruction of said highway
between the Mokelumne River on the west and Highway 9y
on the east,
NOW= K IT RESOLVED, that the City Council
of the RtY. of Lodi does hereby urge the Highway Commission
of the State of California to make provision for the recon-
struction and widening of Highway 12 from the Mokelumne
River eastward to Highway 99 at the earliest possible date.
BE IT VNISM RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution
be transmitted to the Secretary of the State Highway Corry
mission; Mr. G. T. McCoy, State Highway Engineer; Mr. John
G. Meyer$ District Engineer, District X; the Boards of
Supervisors of San Joaquin County, Calaveras County and
Sol.ano County; and the cities of Rio Vista, Fairfield and
SW.su.n City.
