A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LODI URGING COMPLETION OF THE FOLSOM-SOUTH
CANAL PROJECT AND THE RETENTION OF FOLSOM
DAM WATERS FOR THEIR INTENDED USE IN SAID CANAL
WHEREAS, Senate Joint Resolution 33 has been introduced
in the State Legislature calling for the guarantee of a minimum flow
of water in the American River: and
WHEREAS, said minimum flow will consist of water released
from Folsom Dam; and
WHEREAS, such releases will seriously diminish the waters
available for the, Folsom -South Canal Project, a project of tremendous
significance to both the agricultural and urban areas of the San Joaquin
Valley;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council
of the City of Lodi urges completion of the Foisom South -Canal Project
and that the waters destined for this canal be reserved and put to
their intended use in said canal.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Lodi expresses its vigorous opposition to SJR 33.

adopted by the City Council of the City of Lodi in regular
meeting held July 1, 1970 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen - Schaffer, Hughes, Katnich, Kirsten,
and Ehrhardt
NOES: Councilmen - None
ABSENT: Councilmen - None
