HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 3190RESOLUTION NO. 3190 OPPOSING SENATE BILL NO. 624 WHEREAS, legislation has been introduced at the 1968 Session of the Legislature to revise the Mayo -Breed formula so as to give 60 per cent of State Highway Funds to the "southern" area and 40 per cent to the "northern" area; and, WHEREAS, this would reduce the available highway funds in the "northern" area by over $30,000,000 annually, which would create intolerable delays to badly needed construction: and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lodi is unalterably opposed to any change in the present 55-45% allocation of State Highway Funds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Lodi that there should be no revision of the Mayo -Breed formula which would change the basically equitable 55-45 apportionment of State Highway Funds which has for many years permitted highways in all parts of the State to achieve a uniform state of development; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any consideration by the Legislature of a proposed change in the Mayo -Breed formula be accompanied by a full and complete hearing o£the sentiments of all parties involved; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this Resolution shall be directed to the Transportation Corn_mittees of the Assembly and the Senate, and to the legislators representing the Lodi area.
