HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 3190RESOLUTION NO. 3190
OPPOSING SENATE BILL NO. 624
WHEREAS, legislation has been introduced at the 1968 Session of
the Legislature to revise the Mayo -Breed formula so as to give 60 per
cent of State Highway Funds to the "southern" area and 40 per cent to the
"northern" area; and,
WHEREAS, this would reduce the available highway funds in the "northern"
area by over $30,000,000 annually, which would create intolerable delays to
badly needed construction: and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lodi is unalterably opposed to
any change in the present 55-45% allocation of State Highway Funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Lodi
that there should be no revision of the Mayo -Breed formula which would change
the basically equitable 55-45 apportionment of State Highway Funds which has
for many years permitted highways in all parts of the State to achieve a uniform
state of development; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any consideration by the Legislature of a
proposed change in the Mayo -Breed formula be accompanied by a full and complete
hearing o£the sentiments of all parties involved; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this Resolution shall be directed
to the Transportation Corn_mittees of the Assembly and the Senate, and to the
legislators representing the Lodi area.
