RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO
CITY OF LODI OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED %REIN
AND DESIGNATED "MELHAFF ADDITION," AND GIVING NOTICE
OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO
BE IT RESOLVED BY TEE COUNCIL, QF THE CITY OF LODI:
1_ That, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, a petition signed by owner of
a 11 of the land in the hereinafter described territory, by area
and by assessed value as shown on the last equalized assessment
roll of the County of San Joaquin, was filed with the Council of
the City of Lodi on July 6, 1966, requesting annexation of the
hereinafter described territory to said City.
2. That the territory which the petitioner requests be
annexed to the City of Lodi and which said City and its Council
propose to annex, is situate in the County of San Joaquin, State
of California, hereby designated "Yelhaff Addition," and described
as follows:
A portion of the Northwest Quarter of Section 13, Town -
M. D. B. & M.
ship 3 North, Range 6 East,/ and more particularly described
as follows:
Beginning at a point on the West line of the Southern
Pacific Railroad Company right of way, which line is also
the East line of the parcel of land annexed to the City of
Lodi as the "Lowe's Addition" and described in City Of- Lodi
Ordinance No. 467, said point being 1312.41 feet Northerly,
as measured along said right of way line, from the South
line of said Northwest Quarter; thence Easterly and parallel
to said South line of the Northwest Quarter 1027.09 feet,
more or less, to the West line of Stockton Street (40 feet
wide); thence Northerly along said West line of Stockton
Street, which line is 20 feet West of and parallel to the
East line of said Northwest Quarter, a distance of 709.50

feet; thence Westerly and parallel to the South line
of said Northwest Quarter 975.61 feet, more or less, to
the East line of said "Lowe's Addition;" thence Southerly
along said East line of "Lowe's Addition," being also an
existing City Limits line, 711.48 feet more or less, to
the point of beginning; the area thus described contain-
ing 16.3 acres, more or less.
3. That the Local Agency Formation Commission of San
Joaquin County, California, did in session duly assembled on
Friday, June 17, 1966, consider and approve the proposed annexa-
tion to the City of Lodi of said "Melhaff Addition," as above
described, and as submitted to saia Commission by the proponent
of said annexation.
4. ?hat Wednesday, July 20, 1966, at the hour of 8 p.m.,
in the Council Chambers in the City Eall in the City of Lodi,
County of San Joaquin, California, is hereby fixed as the time
and place when and where any person owning real property within
the City, but not owning real property within the uninhabited
territory above described and proposed to be annaxed to the City
of Lodi, and having any objections to the proposed annexation,
may appear before the Council of the City of Lodi and show cause
why such uninhabited territory should not be so annexea to the
City of Lodi. ?he protest must be in writing, may be filed at
any time before the hour set for hearing objections to the pro-
posed annexation, and shall state the name or names of the owner
or owners of property affected and the description and area of
such property, in general terms.
5. The City Clerk of the City of Lodi is hereby authorized
and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published
at least once in the "Lodi News Sentinel," a newspaper of general

circulation published in said City of Lodi, the city to which
it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, said publication
to be complete at least four days prior to the date set for hear-
ing.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was passed
and adopted by the City Council of the City of Lodi in regular
meeting held July 6, 1966, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Brown, Culbertson, Hunnell, Klrsten and Walton.
