In the past, the City Council has expressed an interest in utilizing alternative fuels wherever possible. The next group of transit vehicles we purchase will undoubtedly use CNG. We presently have a Police vehicle using CNG and the possibilities for use in other departments is certainly viable. Now is also an ideal time to experiment with the use of electric vehicles. Transit would be a good place to test an electric bus. The deadline for submitting this grant application is April 15, 1996. FUNDING: No funding required at this time. Cuack .
