HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2783RESOLUTUN NO. 2783 URG IN C THE INS T ALL AT I a N CF PEDESTRIAN ACTIVATED SIGNALS AT THE INTERSECTION OF STATE HIGHWAY 12 AND CH RCE STREET IN THE CITY CF LODI W13EREAS, vehicular traffic on State Highway 12(Kettleman Lane) is heavy and rapid; and WHEREAS, such traffic Ls extremely dangerous to pedestrians crossing State Highway 12; and WHEREAS2 children crossing State Highway 12 at Chnrch Street in the City of Lodi number approximately 30=0 per dayj and MUMEAS the City Council has held many public meetings in an attempt to determine the best method of affording protec- tion for pedestrians using said Church Street crossing; and WHERSAS, the City Council now finds that the best solution to this hazardous situation is to install pedestrian -activated signals at the intersection of State Highway 12 and Church Street; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lodi hereby urges and requests the State of Califor- nia Department of FaWorks orks Division of Highways to install pedestrian -activated signals at the intersection of State High- way 12 and Crivzoh Street in the City of Lodi. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be forvarded to Governor Edmund G. Brown, State Senator Alan Short, Assemblyman Robert T. Mongan, the State Division of Highways Office in Stoekton and the State Division of Highvays Office in Sacramento. Dated: December 16, 1964.
