HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2750RESIOLLTHON No. 2750 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lodi, in recog- nition of urgent community need, has authorized the preparation of plans for a public safety building to house police. fire and justice functions; and WHEREAS, it is the expressed aim of the City Council to provide a facility which will meet the reasonable needs of said functions for the ensuing twenty years; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of San Joaquin County has the responsibility for the administration of justice func- tions, including Justice Courts, Municipal Courts, Superior Courts. the Constable's Office., the District Attorney, and the Sheriff of San Joaquin County, and providing housing for thess agencies within San Joaquin County; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lodi that the Board of Supervisors of San Joaquin County be noti- fied that the City of Lodi is now in the process of develop- ing plans for the public safety building and has retained Mr. Marion i. Varner, Architect, of Pasadena, to prepare the preliminary plans for the building; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby respectfully recommends to the Board of Supervisors of San Joaquin County that the necessary investigations be conducted to determine projected space requirements for the various County agencies vAio in the future might find it convenient, economical, or otherwise prudent to utilize a portion of this proposed building, with partic{alar attention to the needs of the Sheriff's and District Attorney's staffs.
