HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2702RESOLUTION NO. 2702 RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO CITY OF LODI OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY DES- CRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "KNIGHT ADDITION," AND GIVING NOTICE OF TINE AND PLACE FOR HEARING PROTESTS TT'i RETO BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY CF LODI: 1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, a petition signed by owners of all of the land in the hereinafter described territory, by area and by assessed value as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of San Joaquin, was filed with the Council of the City of Lodi on March 4, 1964, requesting annexation of the hereinafter described territory to said City. 2. That the territory which the petitioners request be annexed to the City of Lodi and which said City and its Council propose to annex, is situats in the County of San Joaquin, State of Califor- nia, hereby designated "Knight addition," and described as follows: A portion of the Southeast Quarter of Section 3, Township 3 itartn, Range 6 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian, San Joaquin County, California, and more par- ticularly described as follows: Beginning at the Southeast corner of the Southeast Quarterof Section 3; thence Northerly along the East line of said Quarter 806 1/3 feet to the true point of begin- ning; thence Westerly along a line parallel with the South line of said Quarter, which line is also a boundary line of the City of Lodi, 1320 feet to the West Lime of the East half of the Southeast Quarter; thence Northerly along the said West line 1613 feet, more or less, to a line which Is parallel to and 233 feet South of the North line of said Quarter; thence Easterly along said line 660 feet to a line parallel to and 660 feet West of the East line of said Quarter; 1. thence Southerly along said line, also a City boundary, 803 feet to a line parallel to and L612 2/3 feet North of the South line of said Quarter; thence Easterly along said line, also a City boundary, 660 feet to the East line of said Quarter; thence Southerly along the East line of said Quarter 806 1/3 feet to the true point of beginning; the property thus described containing 36.6 acres, more or less. 3. That the County Boundary Commission of San Joaquin County, California, did in session duly assembled on Tuesday, January 28, 1964, consider and approve the proposed annexation boundaries of said "Knight Addition," as above described, and as submitted to said Commission by the proponents of said annexation. 4. That the Local Agency Formation Commission of San Joaquin County, California, did in session duly assembled on Friday, Feb- ruary 21, 1964, consider and approve the proposed annexation of said "Knight Addition," as above described, and as suhnitted to said Commission by the proponents of said annexation. 5. That Wednesday, March 18, 1964, at the hour of 8:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers in the City Nall in the City of Lodi, County of San Joaquin, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real property within the City of iodi, but not owning real property within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the city of Lodi, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before t :e Council of the City of Lodi and show cause why such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to the City of Lodi. The protest must be in writing, may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected and the description and area of such property, in general terms. 2. 6. The City clerk of the City of Lodi is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least once in the Lodi News Sentinel, a newspaper of general circulation published in said City of Lodi, the city to which it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, said publication to be complete at least four days prior to the date set for hearing.
