GLAVES, Jr. City Manager MRS BEATRICE GARIBALDI City Clerk ROBERT H MULLEN City Attorney WHEREAS, the City of Lodi is located in San Joaquin County, California. along the Mclealumne River; and WHEREAS, the City of Lodi does not have rights to water from the 14akelumne River for its municipal water supply, nor does it have prospects of securing such rights since all available water from said river has already been allocated; and WHEREAS, the City of Lodi l.i entirely dependent for its water supply upon the underground water table which has been declining; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lodi is aware of its obligation to the citizens of the community to provide water for future inmastic and industrial consumption; and WHEREAS, Auburn Dam and Folsom South Canal will be sources of additional water to meet future needs of the City of Lodi; and WHEREAS, these facilities are neoessaxy for the full development of the Amer .ca.i River as a working part of the Federal Central Valley Project; and WHEREAS, these facilities will provide additional benefits of flood control in the Sacramento -San Joaquin Delta area; and WHEREAS, the economy of the City of Lodi is largely dependent upon the maintenance of strong and prosperous agricultural activities in the areas surrounding the City; and Resalution ND. 2474 2. The City of Lodi will have an =ple supply of water to meet its domestic and irrdusttia-1 needs; and 2. The agricultural economy of the areas adjacent to the City of Lodi will 02 maintained. DR IT FURIi- R RESOLVED, that the City of Lodi urges all appropriate action, particularly by the United States Senate Interior and Insular Affairs Committee, directed toward the early authori- zation and eonstzuation of the Auburn Daws -Folsom South Canal Project.
