A RESULUTION AMENDING THE EMPLOYEE CLASSI,KICATIDN
PLAN BY ADOPTING THE CLASSIFICATION OF "PROJECTS
OFFICER" AND ELIMINATING THE CLASSIFICATION C
"WATER SERVICES SUPERVISOR"
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lodi, that
the report of Cooperative Personnel Services, State of Cali-
fornia Personnel Board, entitled "City of Lodi Position Classi-
fication Survey, December, 1956," adopted by the City Council
of the Clty of Lodi by passage or Iieso1utioia No. 1990, be
and the same is hereby dmended as follows:
1. The classification of "Water Servic:ds Supervisor"
is Hereby abolished.
2. The classification of "Projects .ii'z'icr" is hereby
adopted snd the job specifications therefor dated June
1963 dttaet•ted hexetL) and made a part hereof.

Under genera direction, tc direct, supervise, and inspect water, sewer
and relate_ installations r .°:.e by contractors and City crews for conformance to
City requirements to coordinate water and sewer installations of City crews and
contract companies; to negotiate purchases of property reouirea for City uses;
and to ao related work as require::_.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

Confers with anL_ makes suggestions to superiors about proposed roads and/or
im- ^ovements to existing reads, a1i mnents, cost of rights-of-way, alternate routes
in r elationsir±: to right-of-way costs; contacts City and County and other real'
es• ate appraisers to determine` preperty values; contacts and negotiates with
property owners, e:-Lplaining the necessity for improvement and the acquisition of

legal proceedings in the transfer of title or easement and other pertinent infor-
mation: prepares necessary documents ments for right-of-way accuisition; negotiates

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Education ane. Experience: Equivalent to graduation from high school and at
least siz years of increasing1 r -road responsible experience in construction and
i aintelwr1ce cif public worals incding water and sewer installations with at least
one year c • supervisory e<.perience and ane year of experience in the acquisition
of rights -of -waw,
Know1edges ani°. Abilities: Thorough knowledge c i regal descriptions and laws
and instrument pertaining tc right-of-way acquisition:
Good knowledge of the methods cf obtaining voluntary dedications of right-of-way
and the effect on property value_ of deed. and tract restrictions, zoning ordinances,

Thorough knowledge of materials, equipment, procedures, and Practices used in
municipal water and sewer construction:
