HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - March 20, 1996 (52)AGENDA TITLE: Specifications and Advertisement for Bids for Exhaust System for Equipment Maintenance Shop MEETING DATE: March 20, 1996 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve the specifications for the above project and authorize advertising for bids. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project consists of designing, furnishing, and installing an overhead exhaust system at the Equipment Maintenance Shop. The Equipment Maintenance Shop needs an exhaust system added to its facility to protect employees from harmful emissions. The original intent was to include this request as part of the scheduled budget process, but recent recommendations from the Public Works Safety Committee, in-house carbon monoxide testing, plus OSHA regulations warrant immediate installation. A Special Allocation (#85), copy attached, has been approved for this project by the City Manager and the Finance Director. FUNDING: The money for this project will be coming from the Capital Outlay Reserve Fund.
