Dam and Reservoir on the Mohelume River, the save being located
approximately fifteen miles upstream from the City of Lodi, 5aa

persons, a land area of 3,000 acres, and a total uuarket value of
land and "provaweauts iii excess of $150,000,000, and

tnta population of said City is rapidly expandii.g, and the pres"Lt
City limits, as wesll as the future area to be included within the
City of Lodi, as shown on the Master Plan of the City, is within
the flood plain area of the Mwkelunate Rivdr, and

have had a serious effect on the economy of the City of Lodi, and
WHEREAS, the City of Lodi has, in the past, expended funds for
the construction of levets along the bwiks of said MQkelwane River
as a protection against hi6h water occurring in said Mokelumne River
and it has not 'been, nor w i 1 1 it be economical or feasible t o con-
struct levees to pruGect the ifjhi bit"ts and property within said
City at times of major flouda ;such as have occurred Iii the pmat.
N 0 W T H E R :E l! 0 R E, be it resolved by the City Ceuiicil
of the city of Ludi as follows:
(1) Tliat; tLie City CowiQil it thu Ui Gy of Ludi fiuda that GYac

the present inhabitants of Lhe City of Ludi, as well as the future
iubabitants and the future aeo.omic development and 6rowtb of t4.
City of Lodi, is dcrpeiideut upon the early completion of thz
Camanehe Projaot.

pactfully request ttoe Cvngre8a of t IL& United States to appropriate
the wiztimum sum oz $3,000,000 �.a ;ovei., the estiuu+ teu Federal share
of the expenditures required to commence the construction of the
0amanche Project.
