HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2005-71RESOLUTION NO. 2005-71 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL REJECTING ALL BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF FIRE DEPARTMENT RADIO BASE STATION EMERGENCY ALERTING SYSTEM WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the order of this City Council, bids were received and opened on June 25, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., for the purchase and installation of Fire Department radio base station emergency alerting system, as described in the specifications therefore approved by the City Council on May 19, 2004; and WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report thereof filed with the City Manager as follows: Bidder Location Bid ComTech Communications Sacramento $41,796.20 Delta Wireless & Network Solutions Stockton $36,844.08 WHEREAS, due to technical design problems, the cost for the completion of this project escalated, Additionally, said bids did not meet the criteria needed to be provided for the type of system that the Fire Department was trying to acquire; and WHEREAS, staff therefore recommends that all bids be rejected for the purchase and installation of the Fire Department radio base station emergency alerting system. Fire Department staff will work with the County -wide Radio Users Group to redesign the project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lodi City Council that the bids for the purchase and installation of the Fire Department radio base station emergency alerting system, received on June 25, 2004, are hereby rejected.
