HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2005-58WHEREAS, Dodi Municipal Code §3020.070 authorizes dispensing with bids for purchases of supplies, services, or equipment when it is in the best interest of the City to do so; and WHEREAS, on March 2, 2005, an electrical fire began in the dashboard of Police Patrol Unit #05037, and the computer and radar units were severely damaged; and WHEREAS, given that the mobile digital computer (MDC) is used in the field by officers for field report writing, it is imperative that the unit be replaced; and WHEREAS, the Police Department does not stock spare MDC`s or radars due to the cost of the units, so a new MDC and radar unit need to be purchased to replace the damaged equipment; and WHEREAS, based on the need for compatibility with existing equipment in the Lodi Police Department patrol fleet, staff recommends the sole -source purchase of one MDC ($6,$97) and one Golden Eagle radar unit ($2,5$0) from Data 911 and Kustom Signals, respectively, at a total cost of $9,477, utilizing Federal Block Grant funds. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council hereby approves the sole -source purchase of one MDC ($6,637) and rine Golden Eagle radar unit ($2,580) from Data 911 and Kustor Signals, respectively, at a total cost of $9,477, utifizing Federal Black Grant funds.
