AGENDA TITLE: Specifications and Advertisement for Bids for Mini Blinds for City Hall
MEETING DATE: March 20, 1996
PREPARED BY: Public Works Director
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve the specifications for the above project
and authorize advertising for bids.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project is to furnish and install mini blinds for the remodeled
City Hall. Replacement of existing mini blinds in City Hall was
originally included in the scope of work under the Civic Center
Improvements (Phase II), City Hall Remodel. However, staff
recognized that a 15-20% mark-up by the General Contractor could be avoided if it was bid as a
separate contract, so it was pulled out of the project before it was bid. It needs to be bid now in order
to coordinate with the finish date of the City Hall Remodel.
FUNDING: The money for this project will be coming from the Capital Outlay Reserve (City Hall
Expansion and Remodel) Fund. A request for appropriation of funds will be made at
contract award.
Project Estimate: $6,000
Planned Bid Opening Date: April 3, 1996
