HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2005-46RESOLUTION NO, 2005-46 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING PERIODIC ADVERTISEMENT AND SOLICITATION FOR BIDS FOR 600 -VOLT INSULATED ELECTRICAL CABLE AS REQUIRED BY THE ELECTRIC UTILITY DEPARTMENT PROJECT REQUIREMENTS, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD PURCHASES OF $25,000 OR LESS FOR 600V INSULATED ELECTRICAL CABLE THROUGH FISCAL YEAR 2005-06 WHEREAS, the Electric Utility Department currently has requirements for nearly 12,000 feet of #500kemil insulated stranded aluminum conductor for projects on East Turner Road and at Vintner's Square on Lower Sacramento Road; and WHEREAS, future jobs are expected to require 600 -volt insulated copper and aluminum conductor in various sizes and quantities, and since the jobs frequently are "fast -tracked," procurement of equipment in a short period of time is often necessary; and WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council grant authorization to bid requirements as needed and allow the City Manager to make awards of $25,000 or less in order to significantly reduce procurement time. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby approve the specifications for 600 -volt insulated electrical cable, authorizes periodic advertisement and solicitation for bids as needed by Electric Utility Department project requirements, and further authorizes the City Manager to award purchases of 600 -volt insulated electrical cable in amounts of $25,000 or less through fiscal year 2005-06.
