HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2005-128WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the order of this City Council, sealed bids were received and publicly opened on June 22, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., for the purchase of 8,000 feet of 600 -volt insulated electrical cable, described in the specifications therefore approved by the City Council on March 16, 2005; and WHEREAS., on June 22, 2005, bids were opened and recorded for 4,000 feet of 500kcmit and 4,00 0 feet of 750kcmil 600 -volt XHHW-insulated aluminum conductor; and WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report thereof tiled with the City Manager as shown as follows: 1G, E. Supply and All Phase Electric bid Phelps Dodge conductor, which is shipped without protective seats on the cable ends, potentially allowing moisture to penetrate the strands- Specifications call for sealed cable ends and, therefore, these two bids are considered non-responsive. WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends rejecting the two lowest bids for failure to meet bid requirements and further recommends award of the bid to the lowest responsible bidder, Western States Electric, of Portland, Oregon, in an amount of $12,895.52. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council hereby rejects the two lowest bids from G. E. Supply Co., of North Highlands, and All Phase Electric, of Stockton, for failure to meet: bid requirements; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council hereby awards the purchase of 8,000 feet of 600 -volt insulated electrical cable as outlined above to Western States Electric, of Portland, Oregon, in the amount of $12,895.52.
