AGENDA TITLE: Specifications and Advertisement for Bids for Day Room
Furniture for City Fire Stations
MEETING DATE: February 7, 1996

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve the specifications and authorize
advertisement for bids for thirteen reclining chairs for the day
rooms at the City's fire stations.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The furniture in the fire station day rooms is approximately
seven years old. This furniture is subject to heavy use and is
worn beyond repair.
The purchase of these thirteen recliners would provide fire safety personnel who are confined to 24-hour
shifts adequate furniture for their rest and relaxation. These chairs have been selected by the department
for their comfort and their lifetime warranty on mechanical parts, frame, and springs.
FUNDING: The 1995/96 Fire Department budget 10.0-201.01 includes
$6,000 for replacement of day room furniture.
BID OPENING: February 21, 1996
