DECLARING THE INTENTION OF
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LOM TO ABANDON WALNUT
STREET FROM CHEROKEE LANE
TO ITS EASTERN EXTREMITY.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Lodi as follows:
Section 1. It is the intention of the City Council of the City of
Lodi, acting in accordance with the provisions of Section 8300
et seqof the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California, to vacate, close, and abandon as public streets the
followin,c, portion of Walnut Street which extends from Cherokee
Lane to its eastern extremity situated in the City of Lodi,
County of San Joaquin, State of California, and more particularly
described as follows, to wit-,
A portion of Lot Four (4) as said lot is delineated
and so designated on the official map of "LODI
TROTTING PARK" filed February 10, 1891 and
recorded in Vol. Z of "Original Maps" at Page 70
thereof, San Joaquin County Records, commencing
for the sarne at a point on the present east line of
Cherokee Lane distant seventy-five (75) feet
-northerly from the intersection of said east line with
the south line of Lot Four (4) in said "Lodi Trotting
Park" and running thence Easterly on a course
S 87® 47' W, a distance of Two Hundred and Forty-
four Hundredths feet (2 00. 44 feet) to a steel axle set
in the east line of said Lot 4; thence Northerly on and
along the east line of Lot 4 a distance of Sixty (60) feet
to a steel axle; thence Westerly on a course N 87� 47' E
a distance of Two Hundred and Fifty Hundredths
(200. 50) feet to a steel axle set in the present east
line of Cherokee Lane; thence Southerly on and along
said east line a distance of Sixty (60) feet to the point
of beginning.

Reference is hereby made to a map or plan on file in
the office of the City Clerk for particulars as to the proposed
vacation,
Section 2,. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that this City Council
does hereby fix WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 1978 at the
hour of 8.00 o'clock p. rn. and the City Council Charnbe rs, City
Hall, Lodi, California, as the time and place when and where
all persons interested in or objecting to the vacation herein
proposed may appear before this City Council and be heard.
Section 31 Upon adoption of this resolution the Director of
Public Works shall post, or cause to be posted, notice of such
passage and of the time and place set herein for public hearing,
in accordance with and in time, form and manner as prescribed
by law for the vacation of streets.
Section 4. This resolution shall be published one time in the
Lodi News -Sentinel, a newspaper of general circulation printed
and published in the City of Lodi, said publication to be com-
pleted at least fifteen days prior to said hearing.
