BACKGROUND INFORMATION: FUNDING: None required. Stan Helmle, Chairperson on the Information Superhighway Task Force,will provide an update to the City Council regarding the status of the City of Lodi Internet Home Page. nnifer . Oxon Flynn -- City Manager , INFORMATION SUPERHIGHWAY TASK FORCE Lodi City Council Update Wednesday, February 7,1996 HOME PAGE: We are pleased to announce that the City of Lodi has a Home Page on the World Wide Web! CONTENTS: At the direction of the City Council, the Information Superhighway Task Force has created a presence on the Internet to provide an electronic information center for our community and the world. People interested in learning more about Lodi can get information on Government, Business, Education, a Calendar of Events, and much more. The contents of the Home Page will continue to change to reflect the needs of the community which it serves. To the best of our knowledge, we believe this to be the first municipally sponsored Home Page in the county. ACCESS: The Home Page can be accessed at the address on http://www.lodl.gov FUTURE: In addition to changing to respond to community needs, the Task Force will be working on the following items: o E -Mail for City Council members o getting more information from various City Departments o Electronic Forms (E -Forms) for various City Departments CREDITS: I would like to acknowledge the Task Force members and thank them for their efforts over the past year: Steve Mann / Mark White / John Forberg / Dave Tracewell / Ken Jones / Scott Dockery / Stan Helmle CONCLUSION: In conclusion, we realize that we have only taken the first step into the Information Age. We will attempt to continue to keep Lodi prepared for developments in this area that would be beneficial to the community.
