HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 3925RESOLUTION NO. 3925 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE COOPERATIVE PROCESS FOR THE FEDERAL -AID URBAN PROGRAM AS ADOPTED BY THE SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY COUNCIL OF GOVERN- MENTS- RESOLUTION R-74-16. RESOLVED by the City of Lodi that: WHEREAS the Congress of the United States has in the Federal Aid Highway Act of 1973 declared it to be in the national interest for federal funds to be expended for highway projects on the Federal -Aid Urban System and transit projects in the urbanized area and urban areas in San Joaquin County: and WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of California has enacted Chapter 201 of the Statutes of 1971, by which federal funds may be made available for use on County highways, city streets, and State highways and transit projects in accordance with the intent of the federal act; and WHEREAS there exists a compelling need for improvement of streets and highways and transit facilities within the boundaries of San Joaquin County; and WHEREAS the State Department of Transportation has required that a 3 -year program be established for the expenditures of Federal - Aid Urban System Funds; and WHEREAS the State law requires that all federally funded highway and transit projects be approved by the San Joaquin County Council of Governments for conformance with the Regional Transportation Plan: and WHEREAS before Federal Aid will be made available for Urban System Projects in the City of Lodi procedures and criteria for determining project priorities of the 3 -year program must be submitted to the State Department of Transportation for approval thereof: and WHEREAS before Federal Aid will be made available for Urban System Projects, a cooperative process must be established to prepare the 3 -year program for each urbanized and urban area in the County; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Lodi approves the cooperative process adopted by the San Joaquin County Council of Governments, Resolution R-74-16. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a representative from the City of Lodi staff will be a member of the Urban System Advisory Committee as defined in COG Resolution R-74-16. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of May, 1974, by the following vote of the City of Lodi to wit: AYES: Councilmen - Ehrhardt, Hughes, Katnich, Schaffer, and Pinkerton NOES: Councilmen - None ABSENT: Councilmen - None ALICE M.
