HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2003-169RESOLUTION NO. 2003-169 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF SEVEN MOTOROLA RADIOS FOR THE LODI POLICE DEPARTMENT'S SPECIAL INVESTIGATION UNIT USING AUTO THEFT PROSECUTION FUNDS WHEREAS, Lodi Municipal Code §3.20.070 authorizes dispensing with bids for purchases of supplies, services, or equipment when it is in the best interest of the City to do so; and WHEREAS, the current radios in use by the Special Investigations Unit are at least ten years old, are prone to breakdown, and have become unreliable which creates a safety issue; and WHEREAS, the Special Investigations Unit is a proactive, multi -dimensional unit that confront situations that are often dangerous, making effective communication vital to officer safety; and WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council authorize the purchase of seven (7) Motorola MTS 2000 radios for the Lodi Police Department's Special Investigations Unit using Auto Theft Prosecution Funds in an amount not to exceed $15,000.00. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the purchase of seven (7) Motorola MTS 2000 radios for the Lodi Police Department's Special Investigations Unit using Auto Theft Prosecution Funds in an amount not to exceed $15,000.00.
