AGENDA TITLE: Appointments To Council -Appointed Boards And Commissions
MEETING DATE: December 15, 1998

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council review the attached boards and commissions list and
take appropriate action.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: At the Shirtsleeve Session of December 8, 1998, the City Clerk was directed
to place on the Special Meeting agenda of December 15, 1998, an item
relating to appointments of City Council Members to Council -appointed
boards and commissions. Attached please find a current copy of the list
entitled, "Agencies, Boards, Commissions, Committees And Task Forces On Which City Council Members Serve° for
your information.
In addition to the committees on this list, the Council should also discuss the following:
• Lodi Unified School District (LUSD)/City of Lodi 2 X 2 Committee. Currently, Mayor Land and former
Council Member Johnson serve on this committee.
• Greenbelt 2 X 2 Committee. The City Council discussed the possibility of creating this committee to
include member(s) from San Joaquin County and from the City of Stockton.
• Visitors' Convention Bureau Board. Discussions were held with the Lodi -Woodbridge Winegrape
Commission about creating this board to include member(s) from the Chamber of Commerce and from the
Lodi -Woodbridge Winegrape Commission.
The attached list will be changed accordingly to reflect the changes from this meeting.

A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL APPOINTING
CITY OF LODI REPRESENTATIVES TO THE NORTHERN
CALIFORNIA POWER AGENCY (NCPA) AND THE
TRANSMISSION AGENCY OF NORTHERN
CALIFORNIA (IANC)
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lodi that Council Member
Keith Land is hereby appointed as the City of Lodi Delegate and Council Member Susan
Hitchcock is hereby appointed as the City of Lodi Alternate to the Northern California
Power Agency (NCPA). Additionally, the Electric Utility Director Alan Vallow and the
Manager, Rates & Resources Jack Stone shall also serve as Alternates to NCPA; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lodi that Council
Member Keith Land is hereby appointed as the City of Lodi Delegate and Council
Member Susan Hitchcock is hereby appointed as the City of Lodi Alternate to the
Transmission Agency of Northern California (TANC). Additionally, the Electric Utility
Director Alan Vallow shall also serve as an Alternate to TANC.

This letter is to notify you that the Lodi City Council, at a special meeting on December 15, 1998,
decided Mr. Robert J. Johnson will complete his appointment as the representative of the Lodi City
Council until the end of his four-year term, June 6, 2001.
Although Mr. Johnson is no longer a City Council Member, it was strongly felt that he has been an
asset to the commission and it would be in the best interest of the City of Lodi to allow him to carry
out his appointed term.
