HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 80-41RESOLUTION NO. 80-41 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CONSOLIDATION OF REGION K AND REGION L PLANNING BOARDS INTO ONE ENTITLEMENT JURISDICTION WHEREAS, the reorganization of the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration, under the Justice System Improve- ment Act of 1979, requires a minimum population for cities and counties or combinations thereof as a condition to being classified as entitlement jurisdictions, and; WHEREAS, the City of Lodi has participated with all the cities and counties in Region "K" since 1969 in the area of Criminal Justice Planning, and; WHEREAS, the Region "L" Planning Board, representing the Counties of Tuolumne, Calaveras, Amador and Alpine and the cities therein, has asked to be consolidated with Region "K", and; WHEREAS, this combination of counties and cities quali- fies to be declared as an entitlement jurisdiction under Sec- tion D of the Act; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Lodi, California will join with the Counties of San Joaquin, Stanis- laus, Merced, Mariposa, Tuolumne, Amador, Calaveras and Alpine and the cities therein, to form an entitlement under said Act and hereby designates the Region "K" Criminal Justice Planning Board to act in its behalf as designated under the Justice System Improvement Act in planning, coordinating and implementing programs as federal funds are available, and; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Lodi, California will fund individual programs only after each has been reviewed and approved by this governing body and at its option.
