HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 80-32RESOLUTION NO. 80-32 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE CONSTRUCTION OF A THIRD NORTHBOUND LANE ON HIGHWAY 99 AT THE MOKELUMNE RIVER BRIDGE WHEREAS, because of the heavy daily traffic and insufficiency of lanes to handle the volume of traffic on Highway 99, at the Mokelumne River Bridge adjacent to the Turner Road Interchange, a high rate of accidents have occurred, particularly on the northbound bridge. WHEREAS, it has been determined that there are two trouble spots, where the entry for northbound traffic ends at the bridge and the Turner Road off ramp. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Lodi urges the California Department of Trans- portation (Caltrans) to allocate necessary highway funds to enlarge the northbound lanes. BE IT RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this resolution be forwarded to Adreana Geanturco, Director of the California Department of Transportation, Senator John Garamendi, Assembly- man Norman Waters, District 10 of the California Department of Transportation and the Lodi District Chamber of Commerce.
