HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2002-88RESOLUTION NO, 2002-88 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL REJECTING PROPOSALS FOR THE PURCHASE AND REMOVAL OF HOUSES LOCATED ON THE SITE OF THE FUTURE POLICE BUILDING WHEREAS, in January 2002, the City Council authorized the City Manager to issue Request for Proposals (RFP's) for removal of two houses located on the proposed new Police Facility site; and WHEREAS, only two proposals and an informal correspondence were received after sending out the RFP's to the house moving contractors; and WHEREAS, neither of the proposals met the requirements of the RFP, and neither of the proposals or the correspondence offered payment for the houses, but rather intended to charge the City for their removal; and WHEREAS, staff recommends rejecting the two proposals, and suggests instructing the interested parties that they negotiate with the bidders on the new Police building and the final contractor for their removal once the bid has been awarded. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lodi City Council hereby rejects the proposals for the purchase and removal of houses located on the site of the future Police building.
