HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - November 18, 1998 (59)AGENDA TITLE: Purchase of Rainbird Maxicom Irrigation Components for Armory, Blakely, and Hale Parks ($26,571.71) MEETING DATE: November 18, 1998 PREPARED BY: Parks and Recreation Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council authorize the purchase of Rainbird Maxicom components for irrigation systems at Armory, Blakely, and Hale parks. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Parks Division began installing the Maxicom Irrigation System in our parks in 1996. We currently have the system in at Legion, Lodi Lake, Peterson, and Van Buskirk parks. We are also in the process of installing the system at the Grape Bowl, Softball Complex, Lawrence Park, and Zupo Field. Department staff designed the components and they will be installed by park maintenance staff as part of irrigation improvements to these parks. Dixon Flynn — City Ma ager 11/10/98 RESOLUTION NO. 98-164 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE SOLE -SOURCE PURCHASE OF THE RAINBIRD MAXICOM SYSTEM FOR ARMORY, BLAKELY AND HALE PARKS WHEREAS, Lodi Municipal Code, §3.20.070, authorizes dispensing with bids for purchases of supplies, services or equipment when it is in the best interests of the City to do so; and WHEREAS, In October 1996, a presentation of the Rainbird Maxicom Computerized Irrigation System was made to the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council authorized staff to move forward in implementing this system in the parks; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department has $26,571.71 from Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) appropriations from the 1998-99 fiscal year budget; and WHEREAS, staff recommends the sole -source purchase of the Rainbird Maxicom Irrigation Components for Armory, Blakely and Hale Parks. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Lodi does hereby approve the sole -source purchase of the Rainbird Maxicom System for Armory, Blakely and Hale Parks in the amount of $26,571.71.
