HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - November 18, 1998 (66)AGENDA TITLE: Approve Specifications and Advertisement for Bids for 1999 Sidewalk Repair Program and Miscellaneous Concrete Work MEETING DATE: November 18, 1998 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve the specifications for the above project and authorize advertising for bids. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project will provide the City with a unit -price bid for removing and replacing curb, gutter, and sidewalk in various locations throughout the city. This is an annual contract and will be used to administer the sidewalk repair program and to repair curb and gutter as needed during 1999. A clause in the specifications will allow the City to extend the contract an additional year if it is mutually agreed upon by City staff and the contractor. Purchase orders will be issued for the work to be done. This year's contractor, A&A Enterprises, has requested that their contract not be extended through 1999. Specifications are on file in the Public Works Department. FUNDING: The money for this project will be coming from the Gas Tax Fund.
